I tried to find a special wedding gift for my sister.

A friend of mine recommended http://www.photoartomation.com... I sent them a photo. They made several preview samples for me. I%26#039;ve chosen one of them and ordered a canvas stretched print. That was awesome! My sis was very, very pleased. Report It

Reply:A cute bracelet is always in good taste. Not too %26quot;overboard%26quot; like a ring, not too expensive, and yet very nice and tasteful, and something she can wear each day to remember you
Reply:Pictures, personalized key chain, or coffee cup.
Reply:If it%26#039;s for a girlfriend, a cute thing to do is get a teddy bear, size doesn%26#039;t matter too much, and have it holding something, like a card or flowers. It%26#039;s not too overboard and it%26#039;s still a little different. Or if it%26#039;s a more serious relationship, you can buy a necklace and put it on the bear, see how long it takes her to notice it.

It sounds like you%26#039;re talking about gifts for a significant other, but I could be wrong, could you specify?
Reply:Funny you said besides %26quot;flowers and candy%26quot;, check out http://www.frameagram.com they claim to have an alternative to flowers and candy. Basically, it is a personalized photo frame you design yourself online to be given as a gift. Very unique, I am getting one for my mother this Mother%26#039;s day. Good luck.
Reply:Who is the gift for? That makes a big difference
Reply:Really depends on who you are shopping for, sounds like maybe a gift for someone that has invited you over and the most inexpensive yet tasty treat would be a nice bottle of wine, price can easily be under $ 10. Hope this helps and enjoy your Easter.

What's your Flower Power when buying Valentine Flowers...?

I%26#039;m a floral designer and would love to hear some feed back of your opinion as to what %26quot;YOU%26quot; would like to see at your local flower shop.

Please describe your perfect vase of flowers and the budget that you would like to stay within. Also include if you would like balloons or candy to be included with your gift and the type of flower and it%26#039;s color, any input will be helpful.

The floral industry is becoming a dying breed in some neighborhoods. I would love to find a way to bring it back and help people to give flowers as a gift that is memorable %26amp; affordable for everyone.

So this inquiring mind wants to know...all input is appreciated.

In my shop, I like to think outside of the box, so nothing is going to surprise me...my attitude......

BRING IT ON!!!!

What%26#039;s your Flower Power when buying Valentine Flowers...?
2 many details... i just go with roses
Reply:~A vase that has a spout that pulls out and the bottom of it is very fat.

~Dark Red Roses. They are very romantic!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~No candy.

~No balloons that way you can sneak up to the door with the flowers without her noticing!

~Give or take about $10-$12 dollars mabye. I don%26#039;t know how much roses usually cost. I would say about $1 a flower that way they are afforadable. But you could make it $2 a flower.Or inbetween that.
Reply:I keep it simple with a single red rose left on my lover%26#039;s pillow...
Reply:roses.
Reply:You should check out how the German%26#039;s arrange flowers. They do an excellent job. Then copy their style.
Reply:I love artfully arranged flowers without Baby%26#039;s Breath and ferns. And no carnations or mums either. All of those items are over-used. Roses are kind of boring and cliche as well.

Don%26#039;t like balloons or other crap in a bouquet. And just a simple glass or ceramic vase----none of those kitschy vases either.

Flowers: exotic tropicals, hydrangeas, tulips, irises, lilies, gardenias, jasmine, magnolia,.....

Price range: @ $35.00, with lower and higher priced items.
Reply:I pick dandelions for V-day
Reply:roses always roses
Reply:BLACK ROSSES ARE KICK AZZ!!!

Reply:i think red roses are perfect.

What to do with a guy who doesn't really see the need in giving flowers or cards etc?

I am dating a very sweet, respectful guy. We just celeberated our one month anniversary. B/c it%26#039;s only been one month, I decided to make him a small, home made (personalized) card, as a nice gesture for the occassion. He did not give me a card or anything but did take me out and pay for a nice dinner. I do not mind NOT getting anything from him--as he did pay for dinner and it%26#039;s only been one month. However, some of my friends are telling me that he should have given me something (i.e. a card or gift or flowers etc). I would think that for more important milestones, my guy would actually do something, therefore I do not feel the need to make a scene over a month anniversary. Any thoughts on this scenario? Are my friends being overly critical or should I say something to my guy?

What to do with a guy who doesn%26#039;t really see the need in giving flowers or cards etc?
I%26#039;d say your friends all sound like border-line personalities and I would listen very carefully to all there expectations, ridicule, and controlling that way your new boyfriend will dump you and you%26#039;ll be back in the market looking for someone new in no time at all and then all your so-called friends will disappear!!!
Reply:if you want him to celebrate things like this you really need to tell him ahead of time in a nice, nonthreatening way. please don%26#039;t make him read your mind to find out things that are important to you
Reply:Don%26#039;t say anything to him...just continue to make him cards and do sweet little things like that for him. It%26#039;s still early on, and he may have cute stuff planned for later on in your relationship!

What would your friends have you tell him anyway, %26quot;hey, you need to buy me a card?%26quot; You cant demand thoughtfulness. I have learned this. You can set an example through your actions and hopefully he will follow your example.

I think your friends in this case are being overly critical, which makes sense because they love you!

P.S. I already asked this question before, but am looking for more opinions.

What to do with a guy who doesn%26#039;t really see the need in giving flowers or cards etc?
it sounds like we are dating the same guy!!! i had the same problem at one time. my guy was really sweet but was lacking in the romance department. a lot of guys don%26#039;t realize that women truly appreciate small thoughtful gestures. i talked to my guy and told him that while i do appreciate the things he does for me (buying me dinner, taking me out on the town,e tc) i would like for him to do smaller things to let me know he%26#039;s care. since that convo, he has really stepped up to the plate! so, if this situation bothers you, talk to your guy. if not, forget what your friends say.

also, stop telling your friends about everything that happens between you and your man. sometimes, they will not always steer you in the right direction.
Reply:My opinion is that you must be about 14 years old to celebrate a 1 month anniversary and worry about what your friends say.
Reply:He did get you something a full tummy. Guys don%26#039;t get all involved in anniversaries. I do think your friends are over reacting I mean it%26#039;s a month for crying out loud.
Reply:really would not read too much into this. he probably feels that a card which will eventually be discarded and flowers will eventually die is just ironic. and feels that it would e ebtter actually doing soemthing with you too create memories of you and him together.

dont worry it is a good thing. he is just more of the do stuff with than do stuff for u type of guy which is good.
Reply:Well, as a guy, I don%26#039;t understand this thing about one month anniversaries. I mean, I can understand a year, but monthly anniversaries are just too much. It just feels like saying %26quot;Phew, we made it to a month%26quot;.

I%26#039;d do something amazingly nice for her, on the first anniversary, and in the meantime give her flowers, and random cards to know that she%26#039;s on my thoughts.

Now that said, maybe he is a different kinda guy. There are many variations of us, actually :) So, talk to him... casually bring up the conversation of anniversaries and ask him how you should plan to celebrate your anniversary. It will give you the chance to open up and discuss more on whats going on inside...

This is nothing critical at all. Don%26#039;t scare the poor guy away :)
Reply:no, u should not say anything. ur friends r being overcritical. it is a 1 month aniversary, hes not proposing and ur not married. As u said he bought u a nice dinner and u were happy. So leave it at that! Do not take all ur relationship advice from ur friends. You have to follow YOUR heart and YOUR head or else u will fail.
Reply:Send yourself flowers and then tell him %26quot;thank you so much for the flowers you sent me! The card said anonymous - but I know it just HAD to be you! You are the sweetest man alive!!!%26quot; Maybe he%26#039;ll get the idea and be a little jealous at the same time!!
Reply:your Friends are too critical .. romance is not doing the sweet things on %26quot;critical times%26quot; but saying how beautiful he finds you every day and things along those lines, how long you have been together should not be as important as how much you care for one another
Reply:It%26#039;s not the object he gives you but the time and love. What are flowers something to waste money on there going to die with time you want something that is going to last with the relationship. What do people do with store bought cards they thow them in a corner to never be seen again a waste of money. Moneys not what a relationship is built on, IT%26#039;S LOVE!!!!. So in the end a homemade gift comes from the heart it%26#039;s true love. Just be happy he%26#039;s showning he loves you!!!!!!!!
Reply:If you don%26#039;t say anything and resent him for it you will be to blame. If your feeling something tell him honesty is the best policy If he changes you will know it was for you. If he does not you will know how things will be if you pursue this relationship with him. you cant make him change only ask. better to know what your in for that%26#039;s why you are dating in the first place.

p.s. friends always seem to look for drama.
Reply:Well, I think there should be bigger milestones. One month isn%26#039;t a big deal. On your one year anniversary, there should be tokens of affection. But, just a warning, to have expected tokens on milestones really isn%26#039;t spontaneous. I%26#039;ve been married fifteen years, and it really is the %26quot;just because%26quot; flowers and tokens that still make my heart go pitter patter.

The "designated" gift is flowers for girls what is it for guys if any?

why%26#039;s the man gotta buy stuff like that and supposed t o hold doors for girls and all that jazz when all of these woman are pushing to be considerd equal

The %26quot;designated%26quot; gift is flowers for girls what is it for guys if any?
Guys don%26#039;t have to buy anything. It%26#039;s a romantic gesture and a way of thanking the girl for going out with the guy. It puts things on a good note to begin the evening.

If I am invited to a guys house for dinner or whatever, I usually bring the wine.
Reply:More imporant than the gift is the thought and motivation that it represents.

I think your questions confuse %26quot;obligation%26quot; with %26quot;regard%26quot;

While some degree of self preservation seems to always factor into our motivation, your view that these actions are just obligations gives your questions a tone of shallowness, resentment and emotional immaturity. (I am not intending to insult you- I just want to point out that this is not a good approach if you want to endear yourself to a wider selection of females) You will be happy to learn that a man is not obligated to %26quot;buy stuff%26quot; for a woman, nor is he %26quot;supposed%26quot; to %26quot;hold doors for girls and all that jazz%26quot;.

The act of gift giving or extending a courtesy is meaningless to the receiver unless it is performed out of a sense of regard. Men who sincerely treat women and others with regard and thoughtfulness tend to also possess a greater sense of self-respect and confidence in themselves- they are not threatened by a woman%26#039;s success or desire for equality, they recognize the value of creating harmony and happiness around them, and consequently, they tend to be much more attractive to women.
Reply:The designated gift for guys? Submission, of course.

I really like this one girl so if I bought her some flowers and a nice card would that make me look desperate?

Is buying a girl you like just a simple gift like flowers and a card make a guy look desperate??

I really like this one girl so if I bought her some flowers and a nice card would that make me look desperate?
Its only desperate if you go overboard and do it all the time. It sounds like a nice gift. If she likes you and goes out with you and you want to keep surprising her, Id say once a month is not too desperate looking for that kind of gift giving.
Reply:awww....no very sweet and romantic...DO IT! she%26#039;ll love it. %26lt;3
Reply:It could come off as a little much, but if she knows you like her and she%26#039;s into it, then yes it%26#039;s really sweet. Now if you know for a fact that this girl does not like you, send nothing. If you just don%26#039;t know either way, just send her flowers. The card is a little much for me.
Reply:It%26#039;s not a simple gift to tell you the truth. Actually I%26#039;m pretty sure this girl has been won over without the guy buying this particular girl a damn thing. If she%26#039;s not your girlfriend (I don%26#039;t even care if she%26#039;s your date) DON%26#039;T DO IT.
Reply:Yes. Very much so.
Reply:nOoOo it doesnt.. it shows u r very sweet
Reply:thats a good idea go for it :)
Reply:It kind of depends on the girl. As for me, I see no problem with flowers and a card. Personally I find that very sweet... I don%26#039;t really see it as desperate.
Reply:No. We like stuff like that. Brownie points for you
Reply:No it does not make you look desperate. I think its really sweet of you to romance her in that way.
Reply:Nope, it makes u look cute.
Reply:Honestly, I think it is very sweet.
Reply:Card and flowers is a bit overboard. If you haven%26#039;t approached her, go for the one or two flowers approach. It%26#039;s not big and showy, and cards leave you thinking %26quot;What do I do with it now?%26quot; where flowers can be put in a vase and admired or even carried. Maybe put a small card from the florist inside that says %26quot;Go to a movie with me sometime?%26quot;

It%26#039;s not too pushy, shows a touch of romance, shows you thought about what to give, and puts the ball into her court with a clear message from you.

This approach swept me off my feet far more than guys with a dozen roses.
Reply:Leave the flowers and card for her somewhere... That way it gives her a chance to take it all in, think for a bit without pressure. Very sweet idea though, do it!
Reply:no it%26#039;s really sweet, just make sure she appreciates it, if not screw her.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know how long you have known her. Are you dating? Wait until you feel that you two are going somewhere. Then she will really like it. It is good for guys to bring flowers without an occasion.

Should I send my ex a bday present? Card? Flowers?

My ex (went out for a yr) and I still got along really well (talk for hrs often - practically every day) and had hooked up occasionally...after 7 months of this, I decided it was time I needed some space to move on properly. Now i dont wanna get back with her.. but i still dont like hearing about her new guy/s etc. and shes shown some jealous tendencies towards girls i see. I still care for her..as a close friend or even more but im certain i dont want it to go back to a relationship.

I have removed all her contact info from anything that is easily accessible to me..ie phone messenger etc. to get out of the comfort rutt.

But its her bday in a month.. I know im not totally over her.. (slowly getting there).. Will sending a gift/card/flowers be a setback for either of us (I dont intend on going back to the daily talks again)?

She really wanted to keep me in her life but I just cant be friends after a relationship...so the cut off was my decision.

Should I send my ex a bday present? Card? Flowers?
That can be kind of tricky...presents and flowers?..I%26#039;m pretty sure you%26#039;re asking this question because you don%26#039;t really want to pass up her bday without giving anything at all....but still a present or even flowers I don%26#039;t think those are good. Flowers are quite meaningful to a girl...and more at that if its from an ex. It would mix things up too much. Just a sweet simple card wishing her a happy birthday and etc. would be nice and friendly-thoughtful. good luck!
Reply:If your trying to cut her off then No, don%26#039;t get her anything. Otherwise your just going to lead her on.
Reply:you have to decide.. how important is she in your life.. which position does she take??.. no one can decide that for you.

You decide.. and do the same to let her know.. simple.
Reply:You don`t want her in your life so why do you think you should send her something for her bd? It is a bad idea.

You don`t want to have anything around you that reminds you of her so move on.

Get out into the world and meet new people. Join something.

Every time you feel like you want to talk to her just call your mom or sibling.

GIRLS ONLY!-Do you prefer chocolate or flowers as your valentines day gift?
I agree with the flowers. Chocolates are nice, but it%26#039;s almost like they think you want to get fat... Flowers are pretty, adn whenever you see them around the house it will remind you of that special someone.
Reply:I%26#039;m opposite. The flowers just end up dying %26amp; I have to clean up the mess. So I prefer the chocolates. The fat cell expansion will last for months! Hahaha I really do prefer the chocolates. All anyone has to do is give me a box of chocolates %26amp; I%26#039;m theirs...until the chocolate runs out.

Reply:Interesting how many ladies said both when the conjunction %26quot;or%26quot; was used, which means that the choice is one or the other not both. However, women still try to have it all regardless. Typical. Report It

Guys - how do you feel if someone sends you flowers on your birthday?

I%26#039;ve been arguing with my mom on this one for a long time now, but I have an aunt that moved away. When she was closer she would usually bake a special cake on my birthday or my sisters. But since she moved away she sends flowers as well as a card and a gift; the flowers usually arrive by a florist on the day. The first time this happened I felt really embarrassed about it and didn%26#039;t like it. My mom thought it was nice and send it is a custom and not a big deal. Then it happened again last year and some guy friends saw them - none of them have ever had flowers for their birthday before although one had a cousin that had - we were able to laugh it off to a nutty aunt, but it was still awkward. Now with my b%26#039;day coming up again I already know that flowers will be coming this year. I%26#039;ve said to my mom that I wish she%26#039;d say to not bother or use the money for something else or save it, but my mom%26#039;s mad at me and told me to thank her when they come

I can%26#039;t be the only guy who feels this way

Guys - how do you feel if someone sends you flowers on your birthday?
I understand it%26#039;s a little unusual for men, but I doubt anyone will think less of you at all truly for merely recieving flowers from a family member. I am surprised your mother doesn%26#039;t understand how you%26#039;re feeling though, I%26#039;ve recieved embarressing gifts before but my parents were always understanding and they felt less guilt than me when disposing of them. Your birthday is supposed to be an enjoyable time for you, and the last thing she should be worrying about is etiquette on your behalf. I think it would be quite easy for her to discretely hint your aunt to not send them, she might not succeed, but I%26#039;m surprised she will not even attempt to remedy the situation. But as i said, don%26#039;t worry about it, it%26#039;s likely no one will even see them, make sure your mates aren%26#039;t around when they%26#039;re getting delievered if you can and put them in a room where your friends won%26#039;t go when they come round? I%26#039;m sure may guys your age feel the same way, but when you get older I think most realise that they%26#039;re just a nice gesture. Hope you have a good birthday!
Reply:My sister always sends me flowers for my birthday. I thought it was peculiar at first. I was living in a dorm and got a lot of comments, for sure. But now I understand it as a representation of her love and I even look forward to getting them. Be happy that someone cares enough to send you flowers. And maybe send HER flowers on HER birthday. I bet she%26#039;d love it.
Reply:It%26#039;s not my thing. Personally I think buying dead plants is a waste of time. If they got me something that was still in roots then maybe. I will buy flowers for a girl if I know that she likes it. I think the whole idea is to make the other person happy on their birthday, not yourself.

I wouldn%26#039;t complain about your aunt though. She cares for you. That%26#039;s a good thing.
Reply:well my brother got flowers from his gir freind and he said well atleast she thouht of me and i gave my boyfreind flowers and her sister said he waters them every day so dont worry it is sooo normal i mean you should like them its alright and also u can pass it on to a girl u like or ur girlfreind and girls love it when a guy brings them flowers!

hope i helped!
Reply:I think they are a waste of money, but it seems that your Mom likes to have your flowers around the house. When you get your own place, you can tell your aunt you%26#039;d rather have socks or underwear. LOL
Reply:I do think it%26#039;s a little odd, but it%26#039;s nothing compared to being a total ingrate. Grow up.
Reply:No, I%26#039;d be embarrassed to get flowers as a gift too. Maybe talk to your aunt about it.
Reply:Your an immature little thing aren%26#039;t you? They%26#039;re just flowers. Get over it.
Reply:I%26#039;d rather get something useful. Flowers just die in a few days.
Reply:You are not the only guy. I have felt like this before. the truth is..... I LOVE FLOWERS!
Reply:Give them to your mom.
Reply:Excited, because now I have a %26#039;get out of jail free%26#039; card that I didn%26#039;t have to buy with my own money!
Reply:LOL... run... run from the flowers before they turn you into a girl!!! Ha ha.... Seriously, I agree with gadgitgirlmbl they%26#039;re just flowers which is a sign of love and feelings for you. It%26#039;s a nice thing that your aunt is showing you in a way that she can while being away from you. Don%26#039;t be so nasty about it. If you%26#039;re that embarrassed then hide them like Double X said from your guy friends, but say thanks to your aunt and show her some respect too.

Are flowers enough for a birthday gift?

I just simply want to know if flowers are enough for a birthday gift. They%26#039;re a lot of money.

Word life.

Are flowers enough for a birthday gift?
I never liked getting flowers. To me they cost to much and they just die. I would rather have something that I could use.
Reply:She is u r G.F means give single Rose

She is u r a lover means give 3 Rose
Reply:It depends on how they look!
Reply:yea they are...so skip and get them somthing else..im 26 your prob young..but i just dropped 280- on a dumbass spa Gift card but you can get alot of ****..with that but still 280!!! lol for the bday but i like this girl

I never get them so I would adore it.

Reply:flowers are beautiful and i consider the the most simple but most wonderful gift i can get...i mean what do u want a diamond bracelet? or wat...at least its somethin than nothin at at all
Reply:No not really personally flowers are great but they die on you so i think they are waste of money.

Ladies, do you like to receive Flowers as a gift?

i like to give flowers, but im curious if you really like it?

Ladies, do you like to receive Flowers as a gift?
I melt if my bf gives me flowers! Its so nice and classicly romantic, my heart just stops.
Reply:Yes of course! It is really sweet and thoughtful.
Reply:Not as a gift for a special day...but as a %26quot;thinking of you%26quot; type of thing.
Reply:mos def
Reply:I am a coin flip on this one.

Of coarse I love to receive flowers, but in private.

I get embarrassed when I get it at work/school/public.

I don%26#039;t like the production, but I like it as an intimate surprise between me and my partner.
Reply:YES i love flowers. ANY kind of flowers...they dont have to be roses or anything expensive like that...i mean it could be those yellow weeds you find on grass....its the thought that counts and i just think flowers are so lovely!
Reply:Love flowers!! They%26#039;re so beautiful!
Reply:well u hav to know the right kind of flowers but my dad always says flowers say im sorry chocolate means i luv you!
Reply:I personally love flowers. And consider men who hand them out to be very romantic! However, my suggestion is to save formal bouquets for special occasions. Sunflowers, daffodils, tulips, alstroemerias are all lovely but not too stuffy. (and avoid bouquets with dyed carnations and colorfols plastic wrapping ... much better to deliver a few loose flowers ... in my opinion!)
Reply:sometimes depending on what kind of flowers and what u are expecting to recieve in return i mean if it is an honest and genuine gesture i mean my fiance picked me wild flowers when we first met and he did it to be sweet and that was my biggest fantasy and he fullfilled it then i love it but when a guy goes out and blows money on flowers for me that are just going to die anyway then i find it pointless.
Reply:yeah i do.. i think it%26#039;s really sweet
Reply:yep, flowers are good. basically any gift is good- its the thought that counts!
Reply:well..its sweet..but it doesn%26#039;t last long. and now i%26#039;m not partial to flowers. a bit on the cheesy side.

but i%26#039;m kind of a picky person and don%26#039;t like getting gifts in general. i know i%26#039;m difficult and won%26#039;t like it..and hate having to lie to ppl about liking the gift.

its best to stick to things that are more personal or simple like a mix tape.
Reply:I LOVE FLOWERS I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TULIPS
Reply:I love getting flowers! Most girls love getting roses but some girls are more of a bright colored out of the ordinary person. I think girls like it. I know I do. But the best way to find out is to ask someone close to the person your getting them for.
Reply:I agree with Jan. Flowers die.

Plus, I rather have something useful.
Reply:always.....you can never go wrong with a fist full of weeds
Reply:No, they die, would rather have a small gift it last forever.
Reply:Nope I dont -- its cheesy and unimaginative, be creative....... (I like shiny things)
Reply:yeah i do. i think it%26#039;s sweet when a guy gives flowers.
Reply:I do! Note - most women I know prefer to receive them at work (provided they somewhere to display them). Nothing is better than having all your female co-workers ooo and ahhh over them and tell you how great your man is. If you do send them to her work, send them on a Monday. It%26#039;s a real bummer to get them on Friday and either have to lug them home or come in the following Monday to dead flowers.
Reply:Yes! Flowers are wonderful!
Reply:its ok but its nice to be taken somewhere instead or something more special at times. this article will give you some idea about buying something for that special someone
Reply:Yes, I love it when it comes by surprise.
Reply:yes we do its a sweet gesture as long as its the right kind of flowers of course!
Reply:I think it%26#039;s sweet
Reply:yes I do I think it is one of the sweest things a guy can do for a girl on her b-day or for a gifl it tell her that you love her and she will love the flowers.

Is it customary to send flowers as a gift to someone who is getting married?

This friend of mine is getting married, she invited me but I wont be able to make it. Would sending her a bouquet of flowers be recommended?

Is it customary to send flowers as a gift to someone who is getting married?
flowers is a nice gesture but I think she%26#039;d prefer better to receive something more practical and/or she could use in their new home as she is getting married.

I would suggest you just give her a gift certificate to a household stuff store (that sells bedsheets, pots and plates, etc) which she can use later and buy whatever they may still need (that the guests possibly didn%26#039;t come up with for their gifts) or a dinner/spa voucher for two which she and her then husband can use to just simply get together for some quality time.
Reply:If you are a good friend then you should go. But since you cant make it send flowers with a lovely greeting card.

Njoy....
Reply:No its not customary to send flowers to someone getting married, it is far more customary to send a %26quot;sorry i can%26#039;t make it%26quot; note and buy something from their wedding gift list, that is what its there for after all - to let you know what they need.
Reply:Naw, just let her go.
Reply:I say yes. Sending some kind of gift (even if it%26#039;s just flowers) is a nice gesture to someone who%26#039;s getting married.
Reply:I think it might be uncomfortable for her if flowers arrived on her wedding day. She will have already paid a florist for her bouquet, as well as decorative arrangements throughout.

Ideally, you would find out where she is registered, and purchase a gift from the registry. It does not need to arrive with you at the ceremony, but instead can be delivered to her home.
Reply:It%26#039;s not the usual wedding gift but any gift is nice. I would send a card that says %26quot;congratulations on your wedding, sorry I can%26#039;t make it%26quot; along with the flowers.
Reply:yes, put a lucky horseshoe (the gift ones from shop) on it 2 and a card wishing her all the best
Reply:Send something else with. Anything you know will be of use to her now that she is getting married. Well it depends on your income. Even a microwave oven isnt a bad idea.
Reply:While flowers and other gifts are always charming gestures, no matter what the occasion, the usual wedding gift is something for the new home, something like bath or kitchen linens, china, glassware, etc. Most couples also appreciate cash.
Reply:It sounds nice - but it%26#039;s not a traditional gift and considering flowers die in a week, this is really not a helpful gift for a bride and groom. A gift card or money would be a lot nicer for them.
Reply:The tradition is to still send a gift that is either on their registry, money, or a gift card. While flowers are a nice gesture, they will be dead by the time the honeymoon is over.

If you want to send flowers, send a live one in it%26#039;s own pot with proper decorations. That way she will have it longer to treasure.

http://ww1.1800flowers.com/productform.a...

Don%26#039;t forget the card no matter what you chose to send.
Reply:No, it%26#039;s not customary to send flowers. She will be ordering lots of her own flowers for the actual wedding. It would be silly to send more flowers on top of that. If you can%26#039;t attend, it%26#039;s not customary to send a gift. But if she%26#039;s a good friend, send a little gift as a token of your friendship. It can be small and simple, and send it with a note telling her that you%26#039;re unable to attend. Redenvelope.com has some great wedding gift ideas that are affordable. Either that, or send a small gift card from the store where she is registered along with your note.
Reply:absolutely not! You send either cash, cheque, money order, certified cheque, gift cards or you pick a gift from the wedding registry.
Reply:It would be a nice gesture. You could also send any other type of gift, something you normally would have brought to the wedding were you able to attend. It%26#039;s the thought that counts after all. :)
Reply:No it is not customary to send flowers although it is a good gesture. I am newlywed of 6 months. I can tell you that all I wanted were things that were on my list, money or a gift certificate. I did not want to recieve anything that I could not use. With the money that you are opting for flowers you can get a cheap card and put the amount that you were gonna spend on the flowers in the card.

I want to send flowers or a gift to a friend for valentines. Im not dating her or anyone, i know she isnt?

either, but is it okay to send flowers to just a friend for Valentines day?

I want to send flowers or a gift to a friend for valentines. Im not dating her or anyone, i know she isnt?
Sure! Just write on the note %26quot;To a great friend%26quot; so she does not get the wrong idea - don%26#039;t send red roses, if you want to do roses, make them yellow or white - I%26#039;m sure you will make her day, a small gift or chocolates would also be fine, just nothing extavagant. Great idea!
Reply:Sure, try telafloral. I use them all the time.
Reply:I think it is fine to send a gift to a friend, just make sure the card let%26#039;s her know it is a friendship thing, nothing more....unless it is??

Flowers are nice, but they die in a week! How about sending her a gift basket! We can custom design a one-of-a-kind gift basket ful of lots of suprises based on what you know about her. If your interested, check out my website, http://www.basketsbyjenny.com.
Reply:Go for chocolates. I%26#039;d rather get that than flowers.

Put in a cute card %26quot;from a friend%26quot;.

Cracker Barrel has tons of stuff (I%26#039;m not connected with them).
Reply:yeah, but she may take it the way that you might not like. she might think that you want her as something more than a friend. but then again she might appreciate what you gave her.
Reply:That would be very sweet of you to do. If I could make a suggestion, don%26#039;t give her red roses. Those signify %26quot;love%26quot;. Don%26#039;t do red %26quot;anything%26quot;. White pink and yellow are great %26quot;friendship%26quot; colors. Good luck, and happy Valentine%26#039;s day!
Reply:What a sweet thought. Any female, girlfriend or friend, would appreciate a thoughtful gesture like flowers. She%26#039;s lucky to have you as a friend.
Reply:yea man, very cute idea.

do it.

Are flowers a good gift to give a first date if your meeting her at a restaurant?

I wanted to bring flowers for my date, but since were meeting at a restaurant i didnt know if that would be a good idea since there would be no where for her to put them, the resturant also has a dance club for after dinner. Any other ideas would be appreciated too.

Are flowers a good gift to give a first date if your meeting her at a restaurant?
Hmm. How about a single rose? She can put it in the car after you guys eat?! Very thoughtful, BTW!
Reply:I think u should save the flowers for a second date at the park or something, because at a restaurant.. it%26#039;s not that handy. Good luck!.
Reply:I single rose works best... yellow for friendship, white for purity, red for passion. You choose... but one only.
Reply:Um, depends on the sort of restaurant, but I%26#039;d say no. If you want to bring flowers, bring a corsage for her - if the restaurant is a fancy one. If not, maybe a different token of love? A bracelet or other jewelry? I don%26#039;t know the girl like you do. :)
Reply:Flowers are always a good idea but for this particular occasion, I%26#039;d say buy a nice wine at dinner but, if you really want to show up with something in hand hmmmmmm......that is a toughy.

Definitely not a single rose. Women hate this cause it says %26quot;I%26#039;m too cheat and/or broke to get all 12.%26quot;

And definitely not carnations. They are the cheapest flower there is. And we know this.

Wow! I%26#039;m actually stumped since this is a first date. I%26#039;d just go with the bottle of wine and as soon as you sit down just explain to her what you think. That being, %26quot;I really wanted to bring you something but I couldn%26#039;t think of anything since we%26#039;re going to the club afterwards.%26quot;

Or you could just get the flowers anyway and I%26#039;m sure the waitress could find a vase for you to use during dinner. I worked in a restaurant and we did that for people. Then after dinner just suggest bringing them out to the car and then go back in to the club. Hope this helps. I%26#039;ll get back to you if I can think of anything. For a %26quot;first date%26quot; that is.
Reply:No, not on a first date. You%26#039;ll come off as wimpy, trust me. After a few dates, its cool to give her a single rose.

Oh and dance club = dance with her, man!!
Reply:It%26#039;s a nice gesture, but I don%26#039;t think you should. I normally give one rose, but in that situation, I don%26#039;t think you should bring anything. I%26#039;ve never given flowers on a first date and I%26#039;ve dated many, many women.

Some women have told me that they think it%26#039;s unoriginal to get flowers on a first date. They say that it seems like the guy is trying hard to impress them.

My point is that lots of guys give flowers on a first date. Surprise her when she doesn%26#039;t expect it. Don%26#039;t do what everyone else does. I%26#039;m completely against the flowers for this date. Don%26#039;t do it.
Reply:give her one red rose
Reply:Not knowing how old you are- it%26#039;s hard to say. Youcould bring one single flower- she could just set it on the table and bring it to the club it you go there.

OR... leave the flowers til the day after and drop them off if things go well. I awoke one morning to find flowers on my car after a first date. So cool.
Reply:So corny!
Reply:girls love flowers! nice idea. But like they said.. might be a little tricky. BUT one thing.. you should pick her up! It would show her you%26#039;re a true gentleman like it seems you are! and then the flower dilema would be solved =)

Flowers or a gift?

I%26#039;m going to be meeting my future Mother-In-Law and I would like to get her something when I meet her. She and I have never met in the year and some months her son andI have been together. My fiancee is telling me she wouldn%26#039;t want anything but I feel like she deserves a little something. Should I get her anything? I was thinking a nice bouqet of flowers, but I have no idea what kind and if it were roses what color. Please help... he won%26#039;t give me any ideas and says if it%26#039;s that important to me I%26#039;ll figure it out. LOL

Flowers or a gift?
Rather than a bouquet of flowers, how about a basket of flowers? I would go for tulips or gerb daisies. In my opinion, I think roses stand for romance. When I visited my fiance%26#039;s mother (now mother-in-law), I gave her baked goods and a small basket of flowers. She displayed the basket in the living room and served the baked goods as dessert that night after dinner. Best of luck! =)
Reply:After a year of dating my b/f (now fiance), I went to meet his parents. I didn%26#039;t get anything, we just hung out and chatted.

It was fun.
Reply:A nice bouquet is a great idea. Yellow roses are for friendship. Pink roses are for closer friends and those you admire, and are very feminine. Either, or a mix, would be appropriate. You could also do a pink or yellow bouquet with 2 red roses in the center symbolizing you and your boyfrind%26#039;s love, if you want to make it clear how you feel. I definitely would not show up empty handed.
Reply:Since you are going to be this ladies daughter in law you should maybe offer to take her out to dinner or lunch or something nice like that just you and her kind of to get to know her in person flowers are good and all but i think getting to know her will be a better present for her and for you and your boyfriend
Reply:You know what%26#039;s always a great thing for mums-in-law? Something you made that shows her you care and can take care for her son, cheesy as that sounds. :)

So: winter coming up, can you make cookies? Easy recipes on the net, everywhere. Make a few, wrap them up nicely and give them to her. She could put them on the table right away, which is a great start - you immediately have something to talk about. %26quot;Oh, did you make them yourself?%26quot; etc. It shows you thought about a little something to bring along, plus, mums like women who are capable of wifey stuff. Sounds lame, but secretly, they all do. ;)

Break a leg, you%26#039;ll do great.
Reply:Not roses! I don%26#039;t think anything is necessary, but it%26#039;s nice that you want to do something nice for her. How about a bunch of Mums? To show her that you look foward to having her as your mother in law.
Reply:FLOWERS..
Reply:Flowers are always a nice greeting but roses seem too intimate. Choose a bouguet that is indicative of the season you are meeting her and don%26#039;t be cheap. This is her first impression of you. Make it special.
Reply:It would be hard to do a present, because you don%26#039;t know her. Flowers would be nice. Don%26#039;t get roses--they%26#039;re a little too related to romantic things, I think. Go to a florist--NOT a supermarket or something. They%26#039;ll probably be able to put you together something really beautiful, although it will most likely be expensive.

If you do go to a supermarket because you don%26#039;t want to spend too much, get something like sunflowers. Avoid carnations.

When is the perfect time to give a girl her valentines day gift and flowers?

mostl ikely im going to take the girl i am seeing to dinner..and im going to get her flowers and chocolates before hand...should i give them to her right when i see her at her house? i dont want her to be carrying them all night.

When is the perfect time to give a girl her valentines day gift and flowers?
When the 2 of you are alone! In private. You get an honest reaction they way. She won%26#039;t be putting on an act for everyone else to see. When you first get to her house, she WILL be expecting something, so, give it to her, the present that is.

Ladies, what's the deal with flowers? Why do most of you go absolutely gaga over receiving cut flowers?

I know that most of you think it%26#039;s a big deal and even try to give them to guys as gifts. If someone gave me cut flowers (as a gift) I would feel very uncomfortable. Can someone please explain this %26quot;thing%26quot; women have for flowers? And please throw in an explanation of why you think some (if not most) men don%26#039;t feel the same way.

Ladies, what%26#039;s the deal with flowers? Why do most of you go absolutely gaga over receiving cut flowers?
I don%26#039;t go gaga over flowers. They are too expensive, and they die, and what do you do with them? Put them in a vase? ... okay. And watch them. They smell nice, though.

In the first year of high school my girlfriends came to school with lots of presents and flowers and balloons on my birthday - I was surprised and didn%26#039;t know what to do with it all. So I got one of my teachers to put the flowers in a vase. And my friends felt quite offended! I hadn%26#039;t realised this, but they expected me to carry them around all day as %26quot;proof%26quot; of my birthday or something. And all I was thinking about was that the flowers would die quicker, and it was annoying carrying everything around with me everywhere...

I would rather (usually) a guy got me one rose, or picked a flower from a neighbours garden or something - because that is inexpensive - and I think one flower is as beautiful as many, and smells as nice - and its the gesture (not the price) that counts. I love simplicity.

What do guys like as presents? Chocolate? It%26#039;s always hard to buy for guys.
Reply:I send flowers to men all the time. They love it. I%26#039;m sure everyone%26#039;s feelings about flowers is a matter of taste and varies. But, for me, I am in love with flowers. I garden and watercolor plants and flowers. Their delicate perfumes and giddy colors and velvety-soft petals are most pleasing to me. A bouquet of flowers from a man actually turns me on. Everytime I glance at the bouquet, I think of him . . . and, oddly, I think about how delicious his neck smells like.
Reply:They are pretty.

They smell nice.

Society has conditioned us to believe that when a man gives a woman fresh flowers he cares about her - and it IS nice to know someone cares. If coming from someone who does not ordinarily express deep emotion, receiving cut flowers can elicit the %26quot;gaga%26quot; response as you noted.

But mostly, they are pretty and they smell nice.

Men don%26#039;t get gaga over flowers, but give him an electronic gadget and see his face light up!
Reply:Women like flowers because it is usually expensive, and they like when men have to spend lots of money on them.
Reply:I used to think cut flowers were a ridiculous gift. I thought it was a sentimental waste. Now, I love them as much as any woman does. I think it is a combination of things. The wonderful smell, the thoughtfulness of the gesture, they make any room look brighter and looking at somesthing so beautiful makes you feel that way inside. It%26#039;s like owning a natural piece of beauty.
Reply:If I were a girl, I would prefer Playstation 3.
Reply:woman love receiving flowers, but defintley not because they are expensive. actually any flowers will do. it shows us that our guy thought about us and brought us flowers as a way of saying something. and it makes us feel good that they thought of us in a loving way. flowers are beautiful, and the make us feel pretty because of that. they are usually soft and smell really good. they make us feel just that way inside. it makes us feel that our guys feels that way about us!!

men, they aren%26#039;t soft and delicate and beautiful and sweet. so they dont like flowers like we do.

but u dont have to spend a lot of money on them either. i love when my hubby picks some from our garden and gives them too me.
Reply:I am not sure if it is just flowers, but there is something in the simplicity and beauty of this action. But mostly it makes us happy, because if you went out to buy flowers, you were obviously trying to flatter us and make us happy, and so we are happy.
Reply:Cut flowers are absolutely OUT. Unless they are organically grown they are chock- FULL of dangerous levels of highly-toxic pesticides. Traces of this toxic chemical soup is what the recipient of cut flowers really gets. It%26#039;s on their hands, on their clothes, and in the surrounding airspace. These flowers are grown in developing countries; the peasants who process the plant material are regularly exposed to pesticides, fungicides, etc., that are not permitted for use in the USA or Canada. Dow Chemical (for instance) manufactures DDT - and exports it for use in developing countries. In these countries, human exposure to pesticides/fungicides is not regulated. The peasant people who do this work are poor, and haven%26#039;t much in the way of alternatives. Very many are women. People working in these flower-factories often become ill. There are high rates of miscarriage and birth defects reported. Nobody knows how health will be affected in the long-term. Flowers can%26#039;t be eaten - the land can be better utilised to grow food.

Cut flowers are a waste of money and a waste of resources all round.

They make people sick.

Don%26#039;t buy them.
Reply:Because flowers are pretty and girls like them. A guy version of a gift like flowers would be a Whopper or a Big Mac. Wouldn%26#039;t it brighten your day knowing that someone was thinking of you and brought you Burger King or Mc Donalds? I know my husband would like that just like he knows that it brightens my day when he comes home with flowers. Hope that explains things ;)
Reply:There%26#039;s an old saying %26quot;Give me my flowers before i%26#039;m dead%26quot;At least in the Black culture. Some men would view receiving flowers as feminist or girly, It%26#039;s just a token of love.Or a gesture of affection. Some men would blush or be embarassed, If you do receive flowers you are a good guy and well liked.
Reply:I don%26#039;t care about flowers. I%26#039;d be happier with a bonsai tree.

It depends on where you live-some parts of the country are much more expensive than others. You should call a few places in your area and get some quotes.
Reply:It depends on the size and city; decorations depends upon the number of guests. Sorry, not enough info to estimate costs.
Reply:You%26#039;re going to have to do some research on your own. All of those things can vary depending on where the hall is, how big it is, how many and what kind of candles, how many gift bags, and what you are putting in them. The point of your school project is to get you to look up all of this stuff yourself, not just come up with a number.
Reply:Depends where you live but east coast

$800 for the hall

$10,000 for the cater- she supplies the candles...

No flowers other then the wedding party $1,000

Gift bags- $200

This is for 150 people

Werid project. Call a hall in your area and get a price. You can get candles from the dollar store. You can use candy for gift bags and make the really cheap less then $1.00 a piece. And you can just call a florist for a price or use fake flowers and it would be cheaper.

Good luck
Reply:I am getting married this summer and it is costing the following: 200 to rent the reception hall, 400 for the dj, 200 for plates, napkins, tablecloths, forks, cups. Gift bags were about 70.00 and my flowers I will end up spending around 300.00 plus, but that is also for my ceremony as well. So a little over 1,000 dollars.

What clothes does a fashionable man wear for his wedding? And garlands for him, please? And gifts for him?

Namaste

In this case, since neither one of them has parents, the gifts will come from the bride.

What would be suitable for her to give him?

Also, what gifts or flowers are to be given to the wedding guests?

Other suggestions, especially since neither bride or groom has family, but both have friends.

Thank you in advance

What clothes does a fashionable man wear for his wedding? And garlands for him, please? And gifts for him?
clothes for the fashionable bridegroom?- why? gym clothes of course!

but class and style are only displayed by formal suits or at least full length shirts, trousers and a long think blingy chain-from the neck.

The bride could really gift him that mobile/laptop/designer clothes/watch/electric shave etc he always wanted.

Flowers should be colourful and neither red nor white (they symbolise funerals! for Heaven%26#039;s sake!)
Reply:Myself, I wear a Kilt. A personal gift that just he would enjoy? I would say a bottle of Scotch, his favorite cigar.

But usually the gifts are bought for both of them.

How do I get my boyfriend to give me gifts without telling him to?

It%26#039;s been three years, and not once has he given me gifts, sent flowers, or even a card to say Happy Birthday. How do I get hime to send me this stuff without him asking or telling him I want those things?

How do I get my boyfriend to give me gifts without telling him to?
SEND yourself some flowers and when he sees them say %26quot; oh I wish I knew who sent them isnt that the sweetest thing ever?%26quot; Either that or hey Im one of those girls that if u gotta ask for it or hint for it I dont really want it cuz it didnt come from THEIR heart! You could start giving him little presents and cards and he might get the hint that way. U know like Easter is coming- make him a basket full of candy and yummies and then he will feel like an *** for not hetting you anything. THAT might make him stop to think!!!!! Good luck to u!
Reply:try buying him a gift
Reply:I agree. Give him a random gift. Something you know he wants. Then write a note saying something like %26quot;I know you really wanted this, and getting presents always make the day brighter, so here you go!%26quot; Something cheesy, but point out the importance of showing appreciation. If that doesn%26#039;t help, just tell him. Guys can be thick headed!

Also, you might try bringing home flowers for yourself or send some to your office. That way he will see how happy it makes you, and hopefully he will want to do the same for you!
Reply:did u only think of gifts cuz thats rude u should think of love not gifts
Reply:subtle hints...oh you should have seen the flowers so and got from so and so. they were so beautiful and she was just xstatic the rest of the day, boy is he going to get lucky tonight. make sure you add on the last part this way he knows there is also something in it for him
Reply:Be subtle about it.Hint at things that you like when your walking around a mall together. And leave little notes around for him like %26quot;do you remember that awsome ring at the mall?%26quot; Just be subtle about it and he%26#039;ll learn that you want him to get something for you.
Reply:HE CAN NOT READ YOUR MIND. IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP, YOU SHOULD TELL HIM. JUST BE UP FRONT WITH HIM OR YOUR GOING TO BE STUCK IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH NO GIFTS. SORRY COULD NOT BE BETTER HELP BUT IT WORKED FOR ME.
Reply:Well, since he obviously hasn%26#039;t realized it on his own, I think that you have to mention something, some subtle and then not so subtle hints or just sit him down and talk to him about it!
Reply:Drop subtle hints, or just come out and tell him men are not mind readers if you have an open communication relationship you should be able to express your needs and wants.
Reply:You want him to give you gifts? What for? Can%26#039;t you buy your own? Its 2006 women don%26#039;t need men to buy them gifts.

You could drop a hundred hints you he get it. Or maybe he is stingy, or he hasn%26#039;t a romantic bone in his body.
Reply:give him a gift. That is the way
Reply:Why should he give you gifts? Freindship, honesty, love and a since of humor is all you ask for at first. sounds to me like your headed in the wrong direction
Reply:find someone who will, and let him know how much you appreciate, that person giving you something, and if he isnt clueless he will notice and start buying you things to get the same response. you may even buy yourself something simple make a big deal out of it, and say so and so gave it to you, and he will pick up on it if he cares, and he%26#039;ll seek that kind of response from you too.

How can I buy a gift or flowers on the internet (cheapest), and have it delivered in Lima?

I want to send flowers or jewelry to my girlfriend, but shipping is too expensive. I am in USA, she is in Lima, Peru.

How can I buy a gift or flowers on the internet (cheapest), and have it delivered in Lima?
I recomend you use the online store http://carequitagifts.com, I recently ordered gift and flower from them and they have the best price that I saw on the internet.

Another good thing is that they mailed my fiance in Peru, record of the purchase that she will use for her visa interview.

How can I send flowers and/or a gift to the USA when I live in UK?

My sis-in-law in Florida gave birth to my niece last night! I live in the U.K. Is there some way I could orders flowers or a suitable gift for my sis-in-law and new born baby, to be delivered to the hospital in Tampa? I think only Interflora or Hallmark do it but they are sooo expensive and I am justa student of moderate means! Help!

Interflora is the best means I think you will find.

He does not send me flowers?

very romantic otherwise but never buys little gifts or flowers, does he just not care?

He does not send me flowers?
if he%26#039;s very romantic in other ways, then why does it matter that he doesn%26#039;t give you the cliche flowers or little gifts? romance is not a buying presents for someone. if he is as romantic as you make him sound, then i would say that he does care, but he%26#039;s more original in showing it.
Reply:Been with my husband for 6 years, only recieved flowers once, for shouting at me! I just buy my own and enjoy the guilty look on his face when he sees them!
Reply:perhaps he is on a strict budget ?

flowers die off anyway.....
Reply:I don%26#039;t think that it%26#039;s that he doesn%26#039;t care; I think that it%26#039;s more that he might feel these are trivial things (flowers die and the rest is %26quot;junk%26quot;).

Why not get HIM some....maybe he%26#039;ll get the hint. If this is his worst fault, I%26#039;d try not to be so picky.
Reply:some men do not bother with these things. if he shows his love in other ways i would not be to worried. Drop some hints if it is really important to you or buy your self flowers.
Reply:no thats not what it means. it means he not romantic. Doesnt mean anything else.
Reply:I%26#039;ve been married 37 years and my Hubby has never bought me flowers! He knows me too well to make that mistake!

I dont like taking flowers and sticking them in water to die!

He buys either a growing plant or a gift he knows I will like, which is a lot more %26#039;romantic%26#039; than buying something because it%26#039;s %26#039;traditional%26#039;
Reply:Is all that you care about little gifts and flowers? If he spends time with you and likes you isn%26#039;t that enough.

Oh and you men haters go ahead and flame away I dont care but serious , I%26#039;m serious though. thanks yall

I think you are on the right track with the cookware and a flower. What about a nice set of bed linens and a couple of great scented candles? Best of luck to you!!
Reply:Have the table set with candles and flower pedals, if you can cook do so (clean the kitchen up afterwords) if you can%26#039;t, get take out and I don%26#039;t mean Mickey D%26#039;s.

Afterwords make her a bubble bath then have the pedals going from there to the bedroom.

Have a great night!!!
Reply:u could make her a card from your self of how u truely feel for her in it. give her a box of her favorite candy and u could also give her a massage. don%26#039;t forget the kiss.

What are the best flowers or gift to get someone who recently lost someone?

Generally white or any near white shade, to signify grief. preferably the flowers must be less scented also to convey the feeling of sorrow

What are the best flowers or gift to get someone who recently lost someone?
Flowers are beautiful - there is no question of that. However, after a few days they die (which is the cycle of life) but somehow it seems to be so depressing to me (even when I am happy and haven%26#039;t lost someone).

When someone has a loss such as this, I always like to send a living flower. You could also send a tree if you can afford it. A living flower is something that the loved one can keep as a memento of life, to remember your wish of comfort to them and is a reminder that the world is full of beautiful things that are still here to bring joy to life.

My favorite living flowers are Peace Lillies, they signify peace, which is what you wish for the person who passed and the loved ones they left behind. And Peace Lillies have beautiful, delicate white flowers and they are almost impossible to kill. The plant will thrive in sun to complete shade.

Another possibility is a Gardenia. The Gardenias flowers are delicately ruffled and their smell is sweet and kind of lemony. The are very hardy and can be planted outside to comeback year after year, or potted in a container garden inside.

Whatever flower, plant or gift you choose will be appreciated for the thoughtfulness it is sent with. People who have lost a loved one are truly blessed when they know that they have warm hearts around them in their time of need, so whatever you send will be %26quot;just right%26quot;.

I hope your friend will be comforted in their time of great sorrow.
Reply:Donation to a Charity and meals they can heat up and eat. Most people don%26#039;t feel like cooking when they are in that state. You could also offer to run some errons for them.
Reply:before my son passed he asked that instead of flowers people would make donations to his fav charities in memory of him
Reply:white roses
Reply:Purple roses. The florist I dealt with said those impart sorrow or regards.
Reply:It sounds kind of impersonal, but I would say money. It would be the most practical. Do you know how much a funeral cost, let alone the headstone! Also this person and their family members are missing out on some work so they are going to be hard up for cash. If you do not want to give money, the next best thing would be food. Who feels like cooking when they are mourning the loss of a loved one?
Reply:every flower but rose is the simbol of love.
Reply:In my opinion you should send some lovely cut flowers. Anything will be well received. I prefer not to send living flowers mostly because I hate receiving them. After I%26#039;ve experienced losses I get bombarded with living plants and then I have to find something to do with them. I don%26#039;t have the space in my house for them, but I don%26#039;t want to offend anyone by not keeping them. It%26#039;s always such a moral dilemma at a time when I really don%26#039;t need it. I still have a HUGE peace lily that takes up a large part of my living room that I really don%26#039;t want...but I feel guilty parting with it. I wish my friends had just sent flowers.

How soon should I send flower or gift to a girl from Russia I met? What flowers might she love?

did you meet her online or in person??? If you met her online then don%26#039;t send her anything. It%26#039;s a scam. If you met her in person just send her something you think is beautiful. It%26#039;s the gesture of sending, not the flowers themselves.

How soon should I send flower or gift to a girl from Russia I met? What flowers might she love?
I just want to tell you that there is no difference where is your girl from! You just have to feel by yourself if you really want to send her flowers or any other gift. If you don%26#039;t really know what kind of flowers she loves, you just have to know the meaning of them. So I can advice you to read some information here http://www.asap.ru/index.php?alias=info%26amp;...
Reply:Give her a rose make sure it%26#039;s frozen to remind her of mother Russia and make her stand outside in line before she can get it.
Reply:All the time is the right time for flowers. send her yellow roses they mean friendship that way she does not feel pressured. And she sees the the sentiment is for real.
Reply:do a little research. when is her bday? if your doing the flower thing give her %26quot;her%26quot; month flower. its little things that stand heads and tails above the standard rose. not that there is anything wrong with a rose mind you, but her month flower is more personal.
Reply:don%26#039;t be a pussy! pimp that b***h!!! make her feel bad for not getting you any flowers. don%26#039;t spend money on that b***h, use on an outfit to attract more bitches!!!!
Reply:Just because she is from Russia makes no difference in this when it doubt roses

Is it okay to accept gifts from another guy?

Not just some random guy, but like your boss? My husband does not like that my boss sends me flowers and gift certificates on special occasions. The boss does not even work in the office. He lives in another state and is married! I told him this is standard for a boss/admin relationship, but I think he is insecure about it.

Is it okay to accept gifts from another guy?
I receive gifts from my boss as well. It is boss/admin relationship. It shows that your work is appreciated. If he can%26#039;t understand that than leave the flowers at work and use the certificates when your husband is not around.
Reply:Well it%26#039;s ok to accept them on a day like administrative assistant day. Or if you have been working extra hard or just finished a big project. But if your boss is just sending you stuff randomly then it%26#039;s a little weird. Hopefully the flowers are not roses and the items should not be very expensive. You should see about introducing your husband to your boss. Have like a cook out or something. That way your husband can see that he is just your boss and your boss (if he does have any hidden agendas) can see that you are truly happy with your husband. Good luck to you.
Reply:I think as long as the gifts are within standard gift giving and not indecent or extravagant with messages that re vulgar then sure the gift is job related or a thank-you for hard work. It%26#039;s like getting a bonus during Christmas. Would he want you to give money back and say, %26quot;No thanks this is flirting.%26quot; Should you get money for a bonus?

I don%26#039;t think he would.

Flowers are not a bad thing to give if you are a guy to a woman that is not your wife or girlfriend. They are a decent gift and a kind gift and it matters what kind of flowers and with what intent, via the card%26#039;s message perhaps, they are given. Regular wild flowers do not mean the same things as roses. As with most things it is the intent that matters.

I think your husband is overreacting but I think you need to assure him that you love him and that your boss isn%26#039;t someone you would leave him for so he has no need to worry. If it bothers him so much you%26#039;ll give the gifts away to other people, but tell him that it%26#039;s rude to do so because it hurts the gift giver%26#039;s feelings. How would he feel if he gave someone a gift that he really wanted to and then they went and gave it to someone else?

He has his own justification for being upset and I think if you calm him down and help him understand that his justification could be right if there was reason to be so, but in this instances it%26#039;s not correct. You appreciate his protection and love that he is casting to keep you, but the gifts are from appreciation not affection.

Hope he understands.
Reply:Yes it is a standard boss/admin relationship.

Let him know that you aren%26#039;t the only admin in the world receiving gifts from your boss. And also reassure him that you love him, he%26#039;s the only one for you, and he has no reason to feel insecure. Then let him be. These are his insecurities that he has to deal with and you don%26#039;t need to be bothered with it.
Reply:What%26#039;s your husband%26#039;s problem? Your boss is merely showing his appreciation for the work you do. My husband always gets gifts -every Secretary%26#039;s Day, Christmas, Mother%26#039; Day, etc- for the assistant and office manager. That%26#039;s actually something every boss should do to at least show some gratitude for your efforts and hard work. Nothing wrong with flowers and/or gift certificates. It%26#039;s not like he%26#039;s giving you jewelry or lingerie.
Reply:If it only you and no one else in the organization gets them, then I suppose he has a right to be suspicious. While you may think nothing of it, your boss MAY have different ideas. If it is a common %26quot;thanks for a good job%26quot; kind of gift or for administrative assistants day type of thing, then it%26#039;s no big deal. Not all bosses are jerks, some actually appreciate an employees hard work, but you would know best by his actions if something else was going on. I would hope if you felt that it was, you would stop it.
Reply:The flowers would probably bother me a little. But if he does not work directly with you %26amp; you two are not going to lunch %26amp; dinner together then it would be OK.

You should also think about it in your husbands eyes. What if he was coming home with flowers %26amp; gifts from some girl at his work?

As for it being standard for a boss to do this Ive never seen a boss do this.
Reply:It depends on the occasion and the types of gifts. Are the gift certificates enough for you and your husband (if they are for restaurants)?

Next time your boss sends you something tell him thank you but he doesn%26#039;t need to give you anything to acknowledge the occasion. Who do you care more about having feelings hurt? Your boss or your husband? I don%26#039;t know the background from your boss or how it really looks when you get these things so the context really matters too.
Reply:It%26#039;s standard. Holidays, birthdays, hire anniversaries and admin day are all normal gift giving situations. Flowers and gift certificates are pretty common gifts, not something that you%26#039;d necessarily send to impress someone. My guess is that he%26#039;s blue collar and unsure about normal office workplace interactions and obligations.
Reply:Receiving work related gifts for a job well done is commonplace. Now if the boss was sending you underwear or something, then your hubby can cop an attitude. Hubby sounds a bit insecure that boss may be giving you things he can%26#039;t or doesn%26#039;t. Tell hubby you come home to him everyday and he should be proud you are doing such a commendable job!
Reply:If your hubby isn%26#039;t comfortable with it then why not tell your boss you appreciate the gesture, but out of respect for your husband and your marriage you%26#039;ll have to decline them. It makes me wonder why your hubby is so insecure. Their might be a deeper issue going on.
Reply:Boss/admin relationship and he sends you flowers? BS, he is interested and you know it. I don%26#039;t think my SO would be happy with it, nor would I be happy if a female boss was sending him gift certificates and flowers. Especially because the flowers seem so... romantic..........
Reply:just let him know it is a challenge and whoever gives the best flowers wins. he would probably feel less insecure if he knew this boss. either make an effort to introduce them or find a picture of a really unatractive man and tell him that it%26#039;s your boss.
Reply:It is ok as long as he is doing the same thing for everyone else. Like if he sends you flowers on administrative assistant day. It is not strictly standard but it does happen.
Reply:Some guys usually have a motive to y they do things. Kinda study him to figure out if there is more. U can accept the gift, but of u think there%26#039;s more. Give it back.
Reply:Make your husband understand..politely though....that its a part of professionalism!

He shld know..if he%26#039;s working like you! :/

Luv n luck! :))
Reply:Yeah he needs to understand that its just a standard relationship.
Reply:it is standard he needs to understand that

Did my girlfriend like my valentines gift of balloons and flowers?

I gave my girlfriend 3 boquets of flowers and 20 balloons for valentines day. She seemed to enjoy them but the balloons didn%26#039;t last. She popped about half of them after one day and popped the rest about three days later. I didn%26#039;t see her pop the ones that were on the floor. They were gone when I got home. She did say that some of them were dieing and she had to kill them I did watch her pop the rest. She would pick them up and pop them with her fingernails and laugh. She said she was a killer and laughed after popping one. She seemed naunchaulant around them and tolerated them being around and would just kick them around. Then all of a sudden she would start popping them. She seems to like them but should I get her balloons as gifts again or do you think she doesn%26#039;t like them. Do you think she pops them for fun or out of annoyance. Should I ask her if she likes to pop them or just not get them again and just stick to plain flowers? What do you ladies think?

Did my girlfriend like my valentines gift of balloons and flowers?
i am a teenager and i think that it is very original.
Reply:its seems liked she liked them..but only for a couple hours and probably was annoyed that there are so many balloons everywhere. from the way of her actions, i think she was expecting something else. honestly i think flowers and balloons are a waste of money!!! my boyfriend got me flowers and chocolate for v-day...and i love that he put in effort to see me happy but i really much rather get something else....flowers die like the next week...and balloons as you know just lay around....i think effort and showing her that you love her is the key. my bf made me dinner at home and watched tv while he plays poker...ahhaha that i loved!!!! it was fun we laughed and talked. i got him a water filter for v-day and i know its not romantic...but he has been saying that he really needs one...don%26#039;t waste your money on balloons and flowers that die so fast...get her something that she can remember the v-day memories..where she can look back and think it was a great v-day..instead of getting your typical flowers balloon chocolate..you don%26#039;t even have to spend much...really listen to her thru-out the days, months, years...get her something she can use thru out the years and not throw away or die. don%26#039;t ask her...just listen to the small details of what she wants and just think about it.
Reply:damn son 20 balloons? did you think of her favorite color she likes? or If she likes chocolate..I only gave my girl a Balloon it came with some body stuff a rose a teddy bear and she was happy..oh and some chocolate..How old are you?
Reply:that sounds like a cute idea %26amp; it sounds like she liked them but I wouldn%26#039;t get her balloons again. You want to get her something she doesn%26#039;t have to destroy as a gift. And like others have said, you want each gift to be original! you could ask her how she felt about them if you%26#039;re really curious though.
Reply:I%26#039;m not a lady, but you%26#039;ve gotta be original. I would say, by the reaction that you described, that she liked the balloons and thoroughly enjoyed them, existance and destruction. Don%26#039;t do it again; never the exact same, and similarities must be spaced apart. Sing her a song, and do it sensationally. Only you know how to do that. If not, ask casually about related items and come up with a plan. It%26#039;s just you and her, so really, don%26#039;t be shy; be sentimental. She%26#039;ll love you for it.
Reply:if she loves u not ur gifts so she like ur gifts if she loves u bcoz of ur gifts so she did%26#039;nt like it
Reply:I am a woman and I have to say that I don%26#039;t think she liked them at all. You%26#039;re instincts we%26#039;re right. She was expecting something else and wanted to be gracious with what she got but clearly was upset. I%26#039;m sorry. I wouldn%26#039;t try flowers and balloons again. This is something I have to tolerate from my husband every year. He never knows what to get me and sometimes I have to wonder does this man know ANYTHING about me at all. I even went as far as giving him a wish list and still he got it wrong. So being direct didn%26#039;t work either. I don%26#039;t know what to tell you, but don%26#039;t stop trying.

I agree with u , flowers is alive things . Ham kisiko flowers gift me dete hai , wo thode time tak achaa lagta hai , fir uske baad usko ek kone me fek dete hai . yaha pe flowers ki koi value nahi hai , flowers ki asli value bhagwan ke charano me hai .flowers ki khushbu mahesus karne ke liye usko dali se todana jaruri nahi hai . apani filling dikhane keliye flowers ki khubsuerati mar nahi sakate. ham apane swarth ke liye dosaro ki jaan nahi le sakte.flowers khud marake bhi khushbu bikhar te hai ,unse hame sabak le na chahia , kisi ki kabar par hame khusiyo ka mahal nahi banana chahia .apani fillings dekhane ke or bhi raste hai .
Reply:I really liked the question.

Thanks for pinpointing the fact.

According to me, Flowers are a sign of showing love,by showing cruelty to flower itself.

There are many other options to show love, Love can be expressed with just a good deed. Plucking flowers is not a good deed.

Even i too loves Flower very much but i hate plucking one.

There are many simple things which can change life and its perspective.

I am proud to say, you are the one among them preet, Who believes in sharing knowledge and awaring people, whenever and wherever it is possible.
Reply:I have always like the impermanance of fresh cut flowers. I don%26#039;t like the long term commitment of a plant, always reqiring watering and whatnot, my kids and hubsband take all my TLC, but the fresh cut flowers lend a sense of beauty and brightness to a room, and when they whither, I chuck %26#039;em.
Reply:I love fresh-cut flowers. I don%26#039;t think of them as %26quot;dead%26quot;. I always have several bouquets throughout my house along with my plants.

However, my mother would agree with you. She hates fresh-cut flowers and much prefers to receive a live plant as a gift. She refuses to have fresh-cut flowers in her home.
